if memory serves these are from tata gala 2-3 years ago. the annual art show put on to help save the “tatas” and promote awareness… or it was from his show with aaron nagel….

Erik Jones working process time lapse.

Erik Jones is a great illustrator who graduated from Ringling College of Art and is based in Brooklyn, New York. His paintings tend to be iconographic fantasy images concentrating on the female form with a mature comic book sensibility.

I think I first spotted his work in ImagineFX a while ago and I’ve been following his blog on and off for some time, he’s created some really great paintings and comic covers. In general his work is a step away from what I usually look at [Doré] but in some of his work I feel like I can smell the influence of Frank Frazetta (I’m still unsure why though, and I’m probably wrong).

Nevertheless he’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in need for inspiration.
